Zionism, Feminism and Cannabis

Sharren Haskel is a member of The Israeli Parliament – Knesset who currently serves as the second youngest member of Israel’s 20th government. Sharen Haskel was born in Canada and grew up in Israel. After completing her army service, she moved her life to Australia where she became a veterinarian and animal rights activist. In Australia she worked with organizations like WIRES, which rescues, treats, and releases wild animals. She later returned to Israel and received her bachelor's degree in political science and international relations. Haskel has recently played a huge role in Israel’s decriminalization of cannabis and is an extremely vocal advocate for medical cannabis use. Unlike her older counterparts, she is seen by many as the most active and influential MK for civil freedom, individual rights, animal rights, sustainable development, and economic freedom. SSI Columbia is proud to invite Sharen Haskel to share the vision behind her work and will be focusing on Zionism, Feminism and Cannabis in Israel. There will be time for a Q&A following her talk. In the spirit of 4-20 we will be GIVING OUT FREE BROWNIES (Kosher options) at the end of the event. This event will be open to Columbia University students only (ID required). Please be sure to sign up through Eventbrite (link below).
