HighNYcom Presents: THC v CBD

Tickets: https://www.highny.com/may2017/nextevent Earlybird rate expires: Saturday April 22nd High NY is the largest cannabis industry networking event in New York. Join us for a lecture style event with amazing speakers plus a great networking community. No cannabis consumption is allowed at our events, due to New York State law...we hope this will change! Our May 2017 speakers will explore the difference between THC and CBD. In particular, this event will focus on the lesser known of the two: CBD and Hemp. Marvin Washington is a Super Bowl champion and co-founder of Isodiol Performance, the makers of CBD and hemp-powered sports drinks. He is a voice for NFL players in the mission to spread the benefits of CBD, particularly to offset adverse effects of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). An advocate for all-natural, non-habit forming cannabis, Washington is speaking out on the topic of using cannabinoids as neuroprotectants as well as an avenue to alleviate the nation’s #1 health epidemic: prescription opioid abuse and addiction. He has also lobbied the NFL Players Association to push for changes in the sport’s drug policies. He is also an ambassador for Athletes For CARE, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness for important issues facing professional athletes and the public at large, including addiction, chronic pain, access to alternative medicines, mental health, CTE and traumatic brain injury. Jeffrey Friedland is an emerging market pioneer -- his firm, Friedland Capital, was one of the first American investment banks to establish a presence in China -- and he is now on the front lines of the global cannabis industry. He is the author of “Marijuana: The World’s Most Misunderstood Plant” and is a founder and CEO of INTIVA Inc., which has operating businesses and investments in the cannabis industry in California, Colorado and Israel, and an investment in two licensed marijuana producers in Canada. He has been an owner of two recreational marijuana stores and a cultivation facility in Colorado. Bradford Beckerman was a 22 year-old rising business star when a near fatal accident left him with TBI, Traumatic Brain Injury, and reliant on over 17 drugs to keep from seizing and to manage debilitating pain. Fueled with a desire to break his dependency on pharmaceuticals, Bradford began a successful journey to find natural methods of healing and wellness for himself and others, including creating a thriving business at the forefront of the functional beverage category, sold nationally by Whole Foods. In 2002, Bradford’s journey led him to discover the power of hemp to provide healing and improved health, and he became immersed in the cannabis industry. With hemp, he was able to wean off all man-made pharmaceuticals to become seizure and pain free, and was determined to help others who are seeking organic solutions. As a born entrepreneur, Bradford quickly turned his passion for hemp into a professional life in the cannabis industry. Most recently he became the CEO of the start-up, Hemp and Humanity, a broker/dealer/distributer and manufacturer of hemp materials and hemp-infused consumer goods with a focus on sustainability and social responsibility. With a personal story that offers inspiration and hope, Bradford’s experience and expertise has led him to become one the cannabis industry’s leading authorities.
