Cannabis Classic, Alaska

The 3rd installment of the Cannabis Classic, presented by Pakalolo Supply Co., a weekend full of cannabis events, education, and experiences, will be held Saturday, May 20, through Sunday, May 21, at multiple venues throughout Anchorage. Once again, the industry pre-party (open only to VIP pass holders, sponsors and vendors) will kick-off Cannabis Classic weekend, and will be held in downtown Anchorage on Friday, May 19. The exhibitor’s fair, which attracted more than 50 vendors and 1,200 attendees last year, will once again be one of the features of this year’s Cannabis Classic. In addition to exhibitor's, the fair will feature many activities such as seminars, workshops, and demonstrations, including the highly successful cooking demonstrations. The Cannabis Classic will also present a total of 17 awards at this year’s award show. Growers, processors, and producers will compete for awards in: - Best in Show - Best Hybrid - Best Sativa - Best Indica - Best Concentrate - Best Edible - Highest THC - Highest CBD Registration for the growers’ competition opens February 20, 2017 at www.gocannabisclassic.com/compete-register, and costs $250 per entry which includes lab testing and 1 ticket to the Award Show event on May 20. Participants have until April 20, 2017, to register and drop-off their samples to be entered into the Cannabis Classic growers’ competition. A new and exciting twist to this year’s Cannabis Classic awards show is the addition of the industry awards. These awards will recognize the business leaders in Alaska’s cannabis industry; and will consist of the following categories: - Cannabis Store of the Year - Best Budtender - Best Retail Product - Best Product Packaging & Design - Best Testing Lab - Best Garden Supply Store - Best Glass Shop - Cannabis Journalist/Reporter of the Year The nomination process begins March 1, 2017. Anybody can nominate a person or business for an award, which can be done through the Cannabis Classic website (www.gocannabisclassic.com,/vote). The nomination period closes March 31, 2017. Voting for the industry awards is also open to the public, and will begin April 5, 2017. People can vote at www.gocannabisclassic.com/vote, on social media, and in-person at participating retailers.
