The Rise of Medical Marijuana in Texas

Robert Head is the president and co-founder of BlueCord Farms, a cannabis holding company. Robert graduated from Liberty Christian School and attended UNT before joining the Army in September 2001. After serving two duties in Iraq, Robert was stationed in Baumholder, Germany with his fellow army buddy Mat Ladroga. Little did they know, this friendship would later turn into a great business opportunity. After Robert returned from the War, he enrolled at Texas A&M and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelors in Sociology. Like most Vets after the war, Robert was having trouble due to the pain and struggled to get sleep. The VA prescribed Robert various pain and sleeping pills to help alleviate his struggles. After losing a friend to an accidental overdose on the same medication that Robert had been prescribed, he decided it was time to find an alternative solution to the pills. Robert found that Cannabis was the perfect answer, allowing him to quit taking the pain and sleeping pills, and as a bonus, it helped clear up his arthritis. It was at this time that Mat & Robert decided to build a Cannabis company in Texas, BlueCord Farms. Mat has several years of growing and cultivating experience, as well as a license to grow Cannabis in Maine as a caregiver. Robert had access to land in North Texas that could be cultivated by Mat and his team of growers. Together, they started on the road to medical licensing in Texas for CBD plant production. Unfortunately, the Texas Legislature killed every Cannabis friendly bill in the latest session, so all efforts have been redirected to the operations in Maine, due to their recent passing of a recreational marijuana law.
