Legalized Marijuana: The Unintended Consequences

Eight states have now legalized recreational marijuana and an additional 21 states have legal “medical” marijuana. Legalized marijuana has led to many unintended consequences including negative environmental impacts and increases in: marijuana consumption, marijuana impaired driving, drug-related school expulsions and suspensions, marijuana-related emergency room visits and hospitalizations, homelessness and psychosis. This conference will examine the adverse effects for businesses, law enforcement, schools, the medical community, treatment professionals and the environment. The conference will also debunk myths regarding marijuana and opioids.
