Another reading you can't miss! On Saturday, August 26th, 4pm Staghorn Poetry Series presents Michelle Stoner and Lisa Alexander at Staghorn Garden Cafe (517 Greenfield Ave. 15207. Bios: Lisa Alexander’s poems have appeared or are forthcoming in various journals including Tupelo Quarterly, 2 Bridges Review, Pittsburgh Poetry Review, The Burnside Review, BLOOM, and 5 AM among others. She holds an MFA in poetry from Drew University, and is a member of the Madwomen in the Attic writing workshops. Alexander has been a sound engineer for Prosody, NPR-affiliate WESA’s weekly show featuring the work of national writers for many years. Michelle Stoner is the author of the poetry collection Flats and Riots (WordTech, 2008) and was a finalist for the 2015 Robin Becker chapbook prize. Her poems have appeared in 5AM, Bloom, The Collared Peccary, and Weave Magazine, among others. Stoner holds an MFA in Creative Writing, Poetry from Carlow University, where she has taught in the departments of English and Women’s and Gender Studies. She is a poetry instructor in the Madwomen in the Attic Creative Writing Workshops, a sound engineer for Prosody, NPR-affiliate WESA's weekly show featuring the work of national writers,and works as a program manager at Carnegie Mellon University.
