Marijuana as Medicine

More and more people today are turning to medical marijuana as an alternative to pharmaceutical drugs. Learn about the concept of harm reduction and how cannabis is playing a key role as a step-down medication from opiates, amphetamines and other controlled drugs. This 90-minute program will feature, among others, speakers from Canna Care Docs -- which has been on the frontlines of medical marijuana therapies for opiate addiction, chronic pain, PTSD, depression, cancer and more. Canna Care Docs certifies individuals with qualifying conditions to enter the State's medical marijuana program. Speakers include: Dr. Benjamin Caplan - a board-certified family physician and graduate of Williams College and Tufts University School of Medicine -- who has worked at some of Boston's premier healthcare facilities. This event will include a panel discussion and Q & A from the audience. Refreshments will be served. This event is sponsored by Berkshire Roots, Berkshire Athenaeum (Pittsfield Library) and Canna Care Docs of Massachusetts.
