Recreational Marijuana: How Would You Regulate It?

The B.C. provincial government wants to hear from you about how it should regulate the recreational use of marijuana when the federal government makes such use legal next July. The province seeks public opinion on six issues: minimum age, maximum amount of personal possession, consumption in public, drug-impaired driving, personal cultivation, and how it should be sold and distributed. Unfortunately, there has been limited public discussion which could help you form your preferences on these important issues, or much publicity on how to make your voice heard. As a result, the provincial consultation could be dominated by special and financial interests, lacking valuable citizen input. This is where you come in! Please join SFU City Conversations and its experts for a conversation on this hot topic that will shape public policy for years to come.
