This is a 4 Hour Professional Training Course to teach you what you need to know about cannabis and Illinois Cannabis Laws so that you can apply to work in a Medical Marijuana Dispensary. You will be working with cardholders in this position and must understand the medication before you start assisting others. Sales of medical marijuana began at eight licensed dispensaries on Nov. 9, 2015, and the Illinois Medical Marijuana Program is moving ahead at full force, Illinois Medical Marijuana Cultivation Centers are harvesting product and new Medical Marijuana Dispensaries are opening daily! All licensed cultivation centers and dispensaries are expected to be open by the end of 2016. Cultivation centers and dispensing organizations will be registered by the Department of Agriculture and Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, respectively. In May 2016 changes were made to the Illinois program including - the pilot program being extended until July 2020, Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) and terminal illnesses were added to the list of qualifying medical conditions,doctors will no longer be required to recommend cannabis, instead they will certify their relationship with a patient and confirm a qualifying condition, and more! Some states call it a Budtender, Dispensary Agent, Compassion Care Technician or Patient Liaison. They have already gone through the growing pains of the Medical Marijuana program and start up in their home state, so you will learn what to expect from their first hand experience. There will be a question and answer session as well, so bring all your questions regarding medical marijuana dispensaries! The Illinois Medical Marijuana program has one of the nation’s most comprehensive debilitating medical conditions which doctors can recommend cannabis for.
