Caucus for Cannabis at the Governor’s Candidate Debate

What: CALL TO ACTION! Please SHOW UP with other active members of the Minnesota Campaign for Full Legalization to attend a debate for Democratic Party (DFL) candidates for Governor. Let’s be there to challenge them (diplomatically) to support letting the people decide to end ‘marijuana’ prohibition with HF 2714 or a similar #ConstitutionalAmendment bill, to establish a smart fully legalized adult personal use cannabis industry, and home growing rights in our state. DFL candidates: • Mayor Chris Coleman • Representative Tina Liebling • Representative Erin Murphy • State Auditor Rebecca Otto • Representative Paul Thissen • Congressman Tim Walz Where: Sabathani Community Center 310 38th Street E Ste 101 Minneapolis, Minnesota 55409 When: Friday, December 8, 2018, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM How: SHOW UP PREPARED. Please develop a brief, effective testimony that can be delivered in no more than three minutes time. Please come prepared to share your story. Be thorough yet succinct so you will communicate most effectively. Our stories will help us to debunk the narratives of the opposition. The opponents of #FullLegalization are deeply immersed in profound ignorance, dishonestly, cognitive dissonance (Reefer Madness), and influenced by the corrupt interests of for-profit policing. Please write a personal letter addressed generally to all of the candidates telling them your heartfelt story about why this cause of Full Legalization is personal for you. Make 10 copies and bring them with you. You can hand address each candidate’s name, sign the letter and we’ll figure out how to get them in the hands of all of the candidates. Compelling storytelling is going to play a major role in winning our fight to #EndProhibition. Tell them how cannabis has improved your quality of life of that of someone you care about. If applicable, tell them how either you have been a victim of prohibition, or if someone you care about has been criminalized over this healing plant, and the nonviolent victimless farce of a crime that prohibition is. Everyone who is courageous enough to stand up, show up, and speak out helps to represent the majority of cannabis consumers who live in fear of publicly advocating for an end to the senseless, wasteful, destructive, failed and structurally racist cannabis prohibition laws, even though they hate living at-risk of losing their freedom over a healing plant that is safer than alcohol, tobacco, most prescription and over the counter pharmaceutical drugs, etc. Tell them why you will only vote for a candidate Governor who wholeheartedly support #FullLegalization.
