Medical marijuana patients have the right to make their own extracts immediately. There are no "classes" available, and the Internet and You Tube has so much disinformation that it’s difficult for patients to navigate and truly educate themselves. This workshop endeavors to bridge this gap, and create a safe space to educate patients in how to work with their medicine. In each of these hands on sessions, Charlene will give an overview of the appropriate contemporary and traditional uses of cannabis as an herb, including the many ways the plant can be used for healing the spirit. Session 1: Cannabis Infusions, Tinctures and Teas You will learn to prepare a coconut oil infusion, creating a butter that can be eaten or used as is, and added to foods, skin care lotions and creams. You will learn how to make glycerine and alcohol based tinctures, as well as tea, that can be used as a medicine to treat chronic pain, cancers, neurological disorders and internal inflammation. Session 2: Cannabis Topicals Come out to join us for a workshop on Cannabis Topicals with Charlene Freedom. She will be discussing the various uses of cannabis topical products like cannabis creams, massage oils, balms, body butters, and holistic bath therapies as treatments for different health conditions. Charlene will share a demo on how to create your own cannabis infused products from infused oils! You'll take home a sample of everything you make if you have a Medical Marijuana License! Possession of extracts will only be legal for people with an ACMPR document from Health Canada. This course is open to anyone eager to learn about cannabis as an herb. No prior knowledge or experience is needed.
