There is an increasing number of people who are experimenting with, using and abusing all types of drugs, both legal and illegal. According to recent data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of deaths due to drug overdose has increased more rapidly in Pennsylvania than any other state in the nation, up 43.4% from the previous year. Due to the crisis, President Trump has declared the Opioid epidemic a national public health emergency. This course, the second of a series of four, taught by Dr. David Ervine, is designed to give you a deeper understanding of the effects of opioids and marijuana on our society and on the individual.
