GTV Capital Day For Filing constitutional amendments for cannabis!

We all have HIGH hopes for SQ788 but we have also had the opportunity to see what our state lawmakers want to do to with "enacting legislation". We live in a state where our lawmakers have shown a complete disconnect with what the people they were elected to represent want and believe is best. That being said, the time to act is now! Tuesday, April 10th GTV will be submitting 2 new cannabis petitions to the Secretary of State's office for constitutional amendments for both medical cannabis and casual cannabis use. Our medical petition will mirror SQ788 as much as possible. A few changes have been made to address a few issues that the opposition have been pointing out. Hopefully the changes we have made will help put the fears to rest for people who may have been on the fence about medical cannabis in Oklahoma. Now for the casual use petition. This is something we never planned on running but with huge budget shortfalls within our state and again seeing our elected officials ignore the problem we realized that the time may also be right for casual cannabis use as well as medical use. The large amounts of tax dollars being generated in other states have largely been because of recreational sales of cannabis, medical cannabis helps lots of people manage their illnesses but does little for tax revenues. The casual use petition has been modeled from what Colorado has with the first 100 million dollars raised going to teacher salaries and excludes these revenues from being used for administrative salaries. If passed this should push Oklahoma to the top of the list on teacher pay! We understand that some people will not agree with our way of thinking but we believe that the citizens of Oklahoma deserve to have a say. It's time for us to force the issue and show our lawmakers that we are not helpless and we are willing to make the hard decisions and we are willing to do the hard work when it comes saving lives and fixing our budget problems with or without them! Please join us at 11am on Tuesday April 10th as we will be taking a huge step to finally bring Oklahoma into the 21st century and live up to being the "Sooner State!"
