Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Dispensary Training - April 6th

CONGRATULATIONS OKLAHOMA!  You now have a medical marijuana program!  This course is an intense 4 hour cannabis training for dispensary jobs in Oklahoma, with certification test, to prepare you to work in a Medical Marijuana Dispensary. Classes are coming to Tulsa on April 6th! Classes held at 8AM or 1:30PM.$249 online in advance below or $300 cash at the door (if seats available) DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Tulsa Downtown616 West 7th StreetTulsa, OK 74127 ItineraryThis is a Professional Training Course to teach you what you need to know about cannabis and your state’s Cannabis Laws so that you can apply to work in a Medical Marijuana Dispensary. You will be working with cardholders in this position and must understand the medication before you start assisting others. The material is presented in a fast paced, 4 hour course with a summary exam at the end to get your certificate of completion. The goal of this class to help you understand the industry and the medication which will help boost your resume with the knowledge you need to speak intelligently when you land that interview for an opening at a dispensary in the near future. For those with no legal experience to put on a resume, training increases your chances of getting a job in the medical marijuana industry! On average, a Marijuana business owner gets over 200 resumes for every opening they post. With this training on your resume – you WILL stand out from the crowd! In 2016, Oklahoma expanded its limited protection for patients who use low-THC, high-CBD cannabis oil for certain medical conditions, which was initially passed in 2015. HB 2835 will allow adults to use low-THC cannabis oil (minors were already covered by existing law) and will add “spasticity due to multiple sclerosis or due to paraplegia, intractable nausea and vomiting, and appetite stimulation with chronic wasting diseases” to the list of qualifying conditions, in addition to severe epilepsy. Oklahoma State Question 788, the Medical Marijuana Legalization Initiative, was passed by Oklahoma voters on June 26, 2018!  The Oklahoma State Department of Health will establish a special office funded by taxes on medical marijuana sales to oversee the program and create more specific regulations, like the number of dispensaries they will license. Application information and requirements will be available online at OMMA.ok.gov by July 26th.  They will start accepting applications on August 25th.  We expect it to take a few months to go through the applications, depending on then number received, however we expect licenses to be announced in Fall 2018. On July 10th several changes were made to the new law, including a ban on smokable cannabis and edibles. Many in Oklahoma are not happy with these changes along with the other regulations of a a 12% cap on THC in cannabis products sold, having the Dispensary Manager required to be a registered Pharmacist and mandating pregnancy tests for potential medical marijuana patients of child-bearing age.  We expect there to be several lawsuits on these new changes to the law that voters approved – so stay tuned! These dispensaries WILL still need non-pharmacists as their Dispensary Agents and Budtenders to assist medical cannabis patients. They will still need to know the medical benefits of the cannabinoids and terpenes in the products. They will still need to know the various pills, patches, lotions, oils, vape pens that are in the dispensary and which will work best for the patient. How will this course help you get a job in a Medical Marijuana Dispensary? 1)  We offer a resume review, to get your resume looking exactly how cannabis business owners like it2)  Training on your resume will get you noticed when you apply to a dispensary and lead to more interviews3)  The knowledge you learn in class allows you to speak intelligently and speak to points the dispensary managers want to hear, giving you a much greater chance of landing the job4) When HempStaff clients come to us looking for Budtenders, our trained students, that live in their area, will have their resumes sent to the client first Some states call it a Budtender, Dispensary Agent, Compassion Care Technician or Patient Liaison. No matter what the title is, the job description is the same – it is the person that works behind the counter of a medical marijuana dispensary and here at HempStaff, we believe they need to be trained.
