As part of the investment team, he is responsible for sourcing foodtech and agtech deals as well as performing due diligence on select investment opportunities. In parallel, he is finishing his PhD at Stanford University, where he studies how seeds sense water during germination. Before that, he worked on multiple research projects spanning different areas of plant biology at Harvard University, the University of Cambridge, and at the Weizmann Institute of Science. His work earned him two prestigious fellowships at Stanford, and he was selected as an American Society of Plant Biologists scholar. In 2019, Yanniv made the Forbes 30 Under 30: Science and Healthcare Europe list.Yanniv holds a B.S. and M.S. in Biology from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, to which he was admitted with the highly competitive “Normalien” fellowship.
