The Cannabis industry in Oregon has had a long struggle with compliance issues, ranging from testing standards to growing practices. This has not slowed the state down one bit! During a three month period last year, Oregon dispensaries sold over 11,000 pounds of cannabis!

The report states 4,997,000 grams of flower were sold between Jan. 4, 2016 through March 31, 2016, which equals about 11,016 pounds. Of that amount, 2,170,000 grams of flower (or 4,784 pounds) were sold in Portland city limits.

This is great news for the up and coming industry and studies like these provide great insight to the amount of cannabis needed to sustain a population the size of Oregons. One can’t help but wonder how much cannabis would be needed to supply states with much larger populations? The amount of money that could be generated in taxes is almost incalculable!

It’s time we legalize this incredible cash crop nation wide!
